(d) (1) The Long Range Planning Committee shall consist of two members from each district appointed by the Governor for a term of two years (one-half to be appointed each year). Members shall be eligible for reappointment at the discretion of the District Governor. Upon enactment of the foregoing, one of the members from each district for Lions’ year 1979-1980 shall be designated as an appointee for two years (1979-1981). Thereafter, one member shall be appointed or reappointed for each district every year for a two-year term. (d) (2) The Membership, Extension, Retention, and Leadership Committees, consisting of one member, shall be appointed by the Council of Governors for a term of three (3) years, and such member shall be eligible for reappointment at the discretion of the Council of Governors. A District Membership, Extension, Retention, and Leadership Chairman (or Chairmen) shall be appointed by each Governor for a term of three (3) years, and the member (s) shall be eligible for reappointment at the discretion of the District Governor. (d) (3) The Multiple District Retention Committee, consisting of one (1) member shall be appointed by the Council of Governors for a three-(3) year term, and such member shall be eligible for reappointment at the discretion of the Council of Governors. A District Retention Chairman (or Chairmen) shall be appointed by each District Governor for a term of three-(3) years, and the member(s) shall be eligible for reappointment at the discretion of the District Governor. (e) The Leadership Development Committee shall consist of one member from each district appointed by the District Governor for a term of three years. Members shall be eligible for reappointment at the discretion of the District Governor. In addition to the six district appointees, there shall be a Multiple District Leadership Development Chairman. He shall be appointed by the Council of Governors for a term of three (3) years, and such member shall be eligible for reappointment at the discretion of the Council of Governors. The position of Multiple District Leadership Chairman shall become effective July 1, 1997.
SECTION 2. The Council of Governors shall have the authority to appoint, from time to time, such special committees as in their judgment may be necessary.
