number as will make it possible and convenient for members of each Club in each Zone to attend at least two of such meetings each year.
SECTION 8. There shall be no salary paid to any District Officer of any District in the State, nor shall there be a salary paid to any Officer of this State, with the exception of the State Secretary/Treasurer.
ARTICLE V—OFFICERS AND THEIR ELECTION
SECTION 1. The District Governors and Vice District Governors shall be elected at the Annual State Convention of the Districts, as provided for in the International Constitution. All of the State Organization’s Officers shall serve until their successors have been duly elected or appointed. If any District shall fail to elect a qualified District Governor, or the District Governor-Elect of any such District shall die or refuse to take office prior to the day his term would otherwise begin, or if a vacancy will exist as a result of a District Governor protest or legal action, then such District may have a District Governor appointed by the International Board of Directors in the time and manner and for the term set forth in the Constitution and By-Laws of Lions International, as amended.
SECTION 2. In the event of a vacancy occurring in the Office of District Governor, the vacancy shall be filled following the procedures prescribed in the Constitution and Bylaws of Lions International. In the event of a vacancy occurring in the office of District Governor, the elected Vice District Governor shall act as District Governor and shall perform the duties of and have the same authority as the District Governor until such time as said vacancy is filled. In the event of a vacancy occurring in the District Governor’s Cabinet, the District Governor of the affected district shall forthwith appoint a successor. In the event a vacancy occurs in the office of Vice District Governor, said vacancy shall remain until the next State Convention.
SECTION 3. Each District Governor in the State Organization shall appoint one (1) member to the Nominations Committee, and the Council of Governors shall designate one of said members as Chairman. Each
